Nestled along the stunning waterfront of Siesta Key, this project epitomized the creation of a true pickleball paradise. For this client, Courtworks transformed an underutilized tennis court into two breathtaking pickleball courts, delivering a space that not only honors the game but also pays tribute to family and legacy.

Project Background

This private residence features a sprawling property complete with a guesthouse, half football field, full beach volleyball court, pool, jacuzzi, and cold plunge—a dream home designed for recreation. However, the tennis courts sat largely unused as the client’s love for tennis was replaced by an all-encompassing passion for pickleball. After heavily playing pickleball for two years, he realized it was time to make a change.

Challenges and Transformation

The existing tennis court presented several challenges:

Multiple Line Confusion: 

The temporary pickleball lines overlaid on the tennis court created a confusing playing experience, detracting from the fun and flow of the game.

Low-Quality Equipment: 

Two low-end net systems, purchased from a sporting goods store, were inadequate for serious play and were easily damaged during a hurricane, leaving the court surface scarred.

Storm Damage: 

The hurricane left the court in need of repair, particularly where the unstable nets had caused damage.

Working closely with the client, Courtworks repaired the storm-damaged surface and reimagined the space as a top-tier pickleball facility. We designed and constructed two premium pickleball courts, carefully matching the vibrant colors of the Gail Baird Foundation—a heartfelt tribute to the client’s late mother. This personalized touch added a layer of meaning to the project, making it as unique as the client’s vision.
